Malaysia's Pahang welcomes investors for aquaculture industrial zone
The government of Pahang in Malaysia has invited private local and foreign investors to support the development of a 10,773-hectare area for aquaculture.
These areas were mainly in Rompin and Pekan, said State Agriculture, Agro-based Industry and Felda Affairs Committee Chairman Datuk Tan Mohamad Aminuddin Ishak.
For the past five years, the government had allocated certain areas for aquaculture development called Food Production Permanent Park-Aquaculture Industrial Zones, Ishak said.
The government is now concentrating on attracting large investments to enable the continuous development of the aquaculture industry.
The aim is to achieve the annual production target of 27,000 tonnes.
