India's poultry feed prices remain steady despite low ingredients prices

 

 

India's poultry feed prices remained unchanged this week despite a downtrend in prices of its ingredients.

 

Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert, said that prices of a few ingredients have come down but it has not made any major impact on the cost of production.

 

Demand for feed products is also sluggish at present but feed prices may continue to rule around current levels even in the next few days, said Aditya Mishra. On Thursday, soymeal eased by INR450 (US$8.30) and sold to INR37,000 (US$680) a tonne.

 

Bajra dropped by INR10 (US$0.18) and sold at INR1,470 (US$27) a quintal, Dicalcium phosphate (DCP) was at INR35 (US$0.64) a kilogramme, meat and bone meal (MBM) eased by INR5 (US$0.10) and quoted at INR36-37 (US$0.66-0.68), while corn dropped by INR90 (US$1.65) and quoted at INR1,400-1,500 (US$25.74-27.58).

 

After witnessing a fall last weekend, mustard de-oiled cake has been ruling unchanged since then and went for INR14,600 (US$268.50), DRB eased further by INR150 (US$2.76) and sold at INR9,100 (US$167) while rice bran oil was at INR52 (US$0.96). Layer concentrate 25% was sold at INR1,465 (US$27) for a 50-kilogramme bag while layer concentrate 35% went for INR1,150 (US$21). Pre-lay mash quoted at INR1,040 (US$19) while layer grower mash sold at INR980 (US$18). Broiler concentrate quoted at INR2,000 (US$37) while broiler starter mash was at INR1,520 (US$28).

 

Egg went down by INR0.08 (US$.001) on slack demand and sold at INR2.38 (US$0.04). Broiler was unchanged at INR67-72 (US$1.23-1.32) a kilogramme, while chick improved by INR4 (US$0.07) at INR20-22 (US$0.37-0.40).
