Pakistan attains 7,000 tonnes of wheat

 

 

The Punjab Food Department has achieved more than 7,000 tonnes of wheat directly from farmers across the province in its procurement operation which started on April 20.

 

Total procurement target for the season is 3.5 million tonnes. Secretary Food Punjab, Sqn Ldr (R) Muhammad Irfan Elahi said on Wednesday (Apr 27) evening that initially 400,000 gunny bags (Bardana) have been distributed on merit among the growers on first come first basis.

 

Food Department has set up 375 procurement centres throughout the province to purchase wheat from the growers. He said procurement is in full swing and assured that each and every healthy grain would be purchased from the farmers.
