No plans to restrict US meat imports in EU
The EU has no plan to restrict imports of meat, pork products or livestock from the US due to the swine flu outbreak, according to EU's executive arm on Tuesday (Apr 28).
European Commission official said in media reports that they have no plans to ban any meat, pork or food products from the US since there is no connection between food and swine flu at present and such a move would be unjust.
Six countries, including Russia and China, have banned meat and pork products from some parts of the US and Mexico in the wake of an outbreak of the flu, which has killed at least 152 people in Mexico.
