Brazil's Bom Gosto to open new milk processing plant
Brazilian dairy company Laticinios Bom Gosto SA announced that it plans to open a new milk-processing facility in Tapejara, Rio do Sul by March 2009.
The company will invest US$21 million in the new factory, which will have a capacity to process 600,000 litres of milk each day into 70.6 tonnes of powder milk.
Half of output will be shipped to Venezuela, Mexico and Dubai, said Bom Gosto Chairman Wilson Zanatta.
Bom Gosto's powder milk unit in San Jose, Uruguay will also begin operations in the second half of 2009. This facility will have an initial daily processing capacity of 400,000 litres. All output will be exported.
