Indian corn futures emerge from losses as demand strengthens
India's corn futures rose on Monday after early losses, due to robust export demand, with some enquiries coming from Bangladesh, analysts said.
India is estimated to export around 2.1 million tonnes of corn by May, Amit Sachdev, the India-based representative of the US Grains Council, told Reuters on April 9.
Analysts said that the earlier export estimates could surge further with Bangladesh expressing interest to import corn.
Corn futures had initially opened lower on concern a government panel to study the link between futures and spot prices may recommend curbs on trading in the commodity.
