Thai Pork Prices Set To Rise On Increased Demand

Pork prices in Thailand are set to rise with a reduction in supply coupled by a concurrent increase in demand.

Pig production will decrease this summer because of rising temperatures, but demand for pork continues to rise, the Office of Agricultural Economics said.

Suthiporn Chirapanda, secretary-general of the office, said demand rose because of the Sars outbreak.

He suggested that farmers practise good farm management methods and install temperature control systems to ensure pigs continue to eat as normal
