British poultry processor to acquire Dutch Storteboom Group
British poultry processing company 2 Sisters has announced it will purchase the Dutch Storteboom Group as part of its plans to expand operations in Europe.
"This intended acquisition is a strategic next step within our long-term business plan which is focused on growth through long-term partnerships," said 2 Sisters CEO Ranjit Singh.
"Storteboom Group and 2 Sisters' existing Dutch business are complimentary, providing an established platform to support expansion in central Europe."
The privately-owned British company already employs 5500 people at 13 UK-based manufacturing and sites in the Netherlands and the US, producing raw and processed poultry products.
The Dutch group employs over 1200 staff at six sites in the Netherlands and Poland producing fresh and frozen poultry products.
The acquisition of the Storteboom Group will take 2 Sisters' group turnover beyond GBP1 billion (US$1.53 billion).
