China April, May soy imports to top 3 million tonnes
China will likely import 3.83 million tonnes of soy in April and 3.18 million tonnes in May, according to an initial government estimate issued today.
The estimate, from a Ministry of Commerce report issued twice a month, was based on importers' reports for April 1-15; the regular forecast is usually lower than actual levels as it doesn't include all cargoes.
China imported 3.86 million tonnes of soy in March, up 67 percent on year.
