Kazakhstan reports 23 poultry deaths from H5N1
Twenty-three chickens died of bird flu on private holdings in the village of Krasnaya Niva in the central Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, the Emergencies Ministry said Wednesday (Apr 26).
The presence of the H5N1 virus has been confirmed by the Karaganda regional veterinary laboratory. Samples from the dead chickens have been also sent to the central national laboratory for further tests, the Ministry said.
