Taiwan purchases 60,000 tonnes Brazilian corn
Taiwan's Maize Industry Procurement Association purchased 60,000 tonnes of corn, to be obtained from Brazil, in a tender which closed on Monday (Apr 23), according to European traders on Tuesday.
Price was said to be US$1.46 a bushel c&f above the CBOT July corn futures contract. Seller was said to be Cargill.
The association, formerly known as Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group (MFIG), had tendered to buy 40,000 to 60,000 tonnes of corn from the US or Brazil.
