Philippine aquaculture: Prosperous, domestically oriented & in need of a re-think
Milkfish and tilapia are prosperous but insufficient for export. Once promising lines such as shrimp and panagassius have also run into difficulties. With its leading sea weed exports also threatened, Manila needs to restructure its aquaculture strategy.
