Chile free of new ISA outbreaks

Chile's National Fisheries Service (Sernapesca) latest update on the infectious salmon anaemia (ISA) virus situation shows no outbreaks in the country for third week in a row.

Sernapesca's report also describes five suspect sites, located within the 11th and 12th regions.

According to Sernapesca's "suspect site" definition, the affected sites - belonging to the companies Cupquelán and Acuimag – have cages tested positive for ISA virus in the laboratory results but without clinical disease manifestation.

The weekly report also shows that there are a total 25 sites empty of fish because of previous outbreaks or suspect sites but currently without fish. However there are no sites reported in the risk category, i.e. without clinical disease manifestation but located within an infected area.
