Poland's PKM Duda Acquires Ukrainian Rosan-Agro

Polish meat processing company PKM Duda bought all shares in pig breeding corporation Rosan-Agro in Ukraine for US$16 million (11.7 million euro), company CEO Maciej Duda said on April 23.

PKM Duda plans further acquisitions of breeding, meat production, processing and trade in Poland and Ukraine, according to Duda.

Rosan-Agro's group includes slaughtering and meat processing company PF Rosana, agricultural product trading company PF Rosan-Trade and a fodder producing plant.

PKM Duda also took over local meat producer and distributor Stol Polski for 27.5 million Polish zloty (US$9.9 million/7.3 million euro) at the end of 2006. Duda said the acquisitions would help the meat firm target the Eastern Europe and Ukraine markets.
