Thai Feed Weekly: Fall in value of Thai baht triggers rise in soy prices (week ended Apr 23, 2012)
Thailand imports about 1.9 million tonnes of soy a year, or nearly 95% of its annual requirements. That makes the commodity highly sensitive to foreign-exchange swings. Since late February when it was worth 30 to US$1, the Thai baht has been trading at 30.90 to 31 during the last few weeks.
