Russia's March beef imports up at US$213.2 million

Russia's March beef imports grew to US$213.2 million, against the same period last year at US$144.3 million, and US$163.3 million in February this year, the federal customs service reported Tuesday (Apr 24).

Pork imports in March were worth US$160.5 million, compared with US$140.6 million in March 2011 and US$138.9 million in February this year.

Poultry imports in March were worth US$59.5 million, compared with US$35.2 million in March 2011 and US$27.4 million in February this year.

The federal customs service did not give volumes in tonnages, only the worth of the imported products in dollars.
