India's 2011-12 cotton crop arrivals down 4.6% on year
The Cotton Corp of India said in a statement that cotton arrivals from the new crop in India were down 4.6% from a year earlier in the 2011/12 cotton year that began in October.
Arrivals as of April 22 stood at 28.8 million bales of 170 kilogrammes each, as against 30.2 million bales a year earlier, the state-run procurement agency said.
India's cotton year run from October-September.
