US frozen supply of meat is more than 2010

All red meat supplies in US freezers decreased by 1% from last month but rose 13% from the previous year, according to USDA's monthly Cold Storage report.

Frozen pork supplies were up 1% from the last month and up 12% from last year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 3% from last month but down 11% from last year.

Frozen beef suppliers were down 2% from the previous month but up 17% from a year ago.

Total frozen poultry supplies on March 31, 2011 were up 2% from the previous month and up 3% from a year ago.

Total stocks of chicken were down 3% from the previous month but up 13%from last year.
