South Korea to lift age restriction on US beef by June

South Korea will allow imports of US beef from cattle of all ages beginning June after the US Food and Drug Administration announced it would implement more stringent measures on animal feed.

The FDA announced a ban on producing livestock feed containing the brain and spinal cord of animals older than 30 months from April 2009.

According to the agreement between Seoul and Washington, the Korea would import beef from cattle of any age as long as the US publishes tougher measures on feed.
