China's beef imports hike by 13 percent on-year

 

 

Beef imports of China in the first two months of 2008 rose by 12.7 percent on-year to US$8.5 million, while exports dropped by 10.9 percent, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

 

The exports were valued at US$27.64 million.

 

As China's beef export value dropped while its import value rose, the trade surplus declined by US$4.3 million against 2007 results.
