US soy exports surge 32 percent on-week
Exports of US soy during the April 11-17 period, climbed by 32 percent at 539,400 tonnes, yet dropped by 2 percent from the prior 4-week average, the USDA reported.
The key destinations were China which purchased 173,900 million tonnes, Mexico with 104,400 million tonnes, Indonesia with 90,600 million tonnes, Japan with 51,300 million tonnes, and Turkey with 41,200 million tonnes.
In the covered week, net sales of US soy were at 376,700 million tonnes, down 21 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increased shipment were reported for Mexico at 170,500 million tonnes, Indonesia at 135,100 million tonnes, including 62,900 million tonnes from unknown destinations.
