Russian company Acron's Q1 fertiliser output up 6% on year

Chairman Alexander Popov said in a statement Monday (Apr 23) that because of higher prices, the output of Russia's Acron rose 6% on year to 1.577 million tonnes in January-March.

The output in January-March 2011 was at 1.482 million tonnes.

The fall in organic synthesis products output was compensated by a non-organic fertilisers output increase, Popov said. The prices in the beginning of January 2012 were lower than in the October-December of 2011 due to seasonal factors, yet by the end of March seasonal growth in demand pushed global prices to record levels, he added.

The ammonia output grew 3% on year in January-March of 2012 to 475,100 tonnes, nitrogen fertilisers output increased 8% on year to 688,500 tonnes, compound fertilisers by 7% on year to 735,600 tonnes, non-organic chemistry products by 12% on year to 191,800 tonnes, while organic synthesis products manufacturing fell 4% on year to 90,400 tonnes.

According to Popov, Russian companies in general decreased their output by 8% in January-March of 2012.
