McDonald's Q1 profits up four percent
McDonald's first quarter profit has increased nearly four percent as more global consumers patronise the fast food restaurant.
During the first quarter, McDonald's earned US$979.5 million, up from US$946.1 million a year ago.
Sales however, dropped 9.4 percent to US$5.08 billion from US$5.61. Global same-store sales rose 4.3 percent in the first quarter, while same-store sales increased 4.7 percent in the US.
McDonald's stated it is taking a bigger share of the world market as consumers reduce spending and look for a cheaper restaurant.
