India's soymeal exports rises 60 percent on-year in April
India's soymeal exports are likely to reach 400,000 tonnes this month, up from around 250,000 tonnes in April last year, a trade representative said Wednesday (April 23, 2008).
Rajesh Agrawal, coordinator for the Soybean Processors Association, attributed the rise in output to higher returns and uncertainty over shipments from Argentina.
India, Asia's largest soymeal exporter by volume, caters to food and feed requirements in Southeast Asia and China.
India's soymeal export shipments are likely to reach around 900,000 tonnes between May and September, said Rajesh Agrawal, coordinator for the Soybean Processors Association.
