Russia's January-March meat, milk output up on-year

Russia's meat output increased 2.5 percent on the year to about 1.6 million tonnes in live weight, news agency Prime-Tass reported Friday (Apr 21), citing the Federal State Statistics Service.

Milk output in the period increased 0.4 percent on the year to 5.9 million tons in the period.

Russia has posted increases in meat production for three consecutive months, despite the rises being modest, while in the previous two years Russia has registered declines in the sector.
