China Imported 117,531 Metric Tons of Wheat in March
 

According to China's General Administration of Customs, China imported 117,531 metric tons of wheat in March 2004, up by 128% versus the same period last year. The bulk of the imports, 95,185 tons were from Canada, with 21,594 tons from the United States.

From January to March, China imported a total of 259,508 tons of wheat, registering a remarkable year-on-year increase of 205%, the customs data shows.
