Richlife begins dairy development for better quality fresh milk

 

 

A premier Sri Lankan dairy and fruit based consumer products manufacturer, Richlife Dairies Limited, recently begun a nationwide Fresh Milk and Dairy Development Programme to help Sri-Lankan dairy farmers attain new knowledge and skill in up to date technology.

 

The key goal of this programme is to enhance the freshness and quality of fresh cow's milk collected across Sri Lanka. Besides offering Richlife's own technical expertise, this unique programme also provides the expert knowledge of Hayleys Agro Limited and the valuable contributions of Divisional Veterinary practitioners in various districts. It is shaped to develop the knowledge and standards of dairy farming using interactive seminars and workshops. Richlife Dairies has intended to carry out this programme in all provinces including the northern and the eastern provinces.

 

The Fresh Milk & Dairy Development Programme was recently commenced in the western province at Kirindiwela with an enrolment of more than 200 dairy farmers. At this programme, the most recent techniques and technologies on how to achieve better yield of fresh milk was taught by veterinarian, Dr Ishan Weerasinghe, and Pharmacist, Priyantha Sahabandu, of the Livestock Development Unit of Hayleys Agro Limited. Additionally, the Livestock Development Instructors of the district, K J M P Kothalawala (Biyagama), and M D Siriwardena (Nittambuwa), also made valuable contributions to uplift the knowledge of the participant farmers.

Being the only value added fresh milk producing company in the Country, Richlife has obtained the ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System Certification. It affirms that all products of Richlife bought by consumers are produced in a high quality and safe environment. Another special feature of the Richlife's dairy product range is that they are made from high quality pure and fresh cow's milk hygienically collected from their own local dairy farmers.
