Ukraine plants spring grains on 4.16 million hectares to Apr 21
 
 

Ukraine planted spring grains on 4.16 million hectares, or 57% of the planned total area, to April 21, according to the agriculture ministry.

 

The ministry said on the same date last year that spring grains were planted on 4.86 million hectares or 65% of the planned total area.

 

To date, spring wheat was planted on 279,000 hectares or 93% of the planned total area. Spring pulses were planted on 300,000 hectares which was 5% more than the planned total planted area.

 

Ukraine also began planting spring corn, with 150,000 hectares or 6% of the planned total planted area being planted to date. Soy was planted on 46,000 hectares or 5% of the planned total area.
