China-Biotics, one of China's largest suppliers of probiotics, announced Wednesday (Apr 22) it has signed an agreement with Dabeinong Group to supply probiotics as bulk additives for its poultry feed products.

China-Biotics will provide Dabeinong with probiotics such as lactobacillus acidophilus and streptococcus faecalis, which will be used in several of Dabeinong's products. Besides enhancing the avian immune system, these bulk additives will also help to increase poultry survival and egg production rates in commercially raised poultry.

Meanwhile, China-Biotics expects the demand for probiotics in China's poultry feed market to increase up to 2,500 tonnes by 2010.
