China March soybean imports down 19 percent on-year
China's March soybean imports fell 19 percent on-year to 2.11 million tonnes, the General Administration of Customs said Monday.
From January to March, soybean imports rose 6 percent on-year to 5.72 million tonnes.
China is the world's biggest importer of soybeans and gets most of its supplies from the US, Brazil and Argentina, the world's leading soybean producers.
In March, the country imported 216,888 tonnes of soyoil and 414,695 tonnes of palm oil, down 14 percent and up 26 percent on-year respectively.
The country did not import any wheat in March.
In the same month, corn exports totalled 1.13 million tonnes, up 46 percent on-year.
