Lysine prices dip on subdued demand in China
Lysine prices were lower during the week ending April 18.
Even as producers attempted to uphold prices, lysine market weakened as feed millers limited procurements while the H7N9 bird flu situation in China aggravated.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine were in the range of RMB11.80-12.20/kg.
China's livestock industry is unlikely to recover in the near term with the disease situation showing no signs of improving. This will decimate the demand for lysine together with soft soymeal prices due to ample supplies.
