Palestinian authority allows chicken imports from Israel
The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) has allowed live chicken imports from Israel after price for a single kilogramme of chicken increased by 37.5% in West Bank markets.
The Palestinian Ministry of National Economy and Ministry of Agriculture have agreed to the importation during a current market crisis.
The two ministries instructed traders to present medical and vet certificates, financial clearance letters and permits before importing live chicken from Israel.
A senior official at the Ministry of Agriculture has attributed the price increase to an 80% rise in the price of chicks.
