Weak livestock markets, higher output drag down China methionine prices
Prices of methionine slid further during the week ending April 18.
Apart from increased supplies from a local produce, methionine market suffered from sluggish demands as well, as feed millers limited purchases with livestock prices plunging.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine reduced to RMB28.50-29/kg.
Methionine market is unlikely to firm up with output on the rise, China's livestock industry facing severe losses, and animal inventories poised to diminish further due to the disease outbreak.
