Ukraine may export 20 million tonnes of grain in 2009-10
Ukraine is likely to export about 20 million tonnes of grain in the 2009-10 crop year compared with 25 million tonnes in 2008-09, APK-Inform agriculture consultancy said Tuesday (Apr 21).
Ukraine has increased its food production that will allow exports of about 20 million tonnes in 2009-10, the consultancy said.
But UkrAgroconsult, forecast 2009-10 exports at 19.4 million tonnes.
Agricultural officials said Ukraine's 2009 grain crop may reach 48 million tonnes compared with a record 53.3 million tonnes in 2008.
