Indonesia to receive first Australian shipment of highly traceable grain

Indonesia purchased Australia's first shipment of a new type of quality wheat which assures premium traceability.

The wheat is known as grain pool integrated quality and allows Indonesian customers to track detailed information on the crop including what stock previously grazed in the paddock.

Grain handler Cooperative Bulk Handling said detailed traceability is extremely important in Asia.

CBH Group chairman Neil Wandel said the shipment will give a niche to Australian growers among other competitors.

Wandel emphasized as the world is looking for safer and cleaner food, the grain offers competitive edge for growers.
