China Eases Restrictions On Certain US Beef Imports

China will end an embargo on imports of U.S. cattle semen, embryos and tallow, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman said on Wednesday - a partial resumption of beef trade cut off after the discovery of the first U.S. case of mad cow disease.

"I am pleased to report China will resume trade in the three products", Veneman said at a news conference. USDA wanted China to restore beef trade completely and to remove a prohibition on U.S. poultry as well.
