New Lysine Plant Being Built in Hubei, China

A subsidiary of Wuhan Wei-Chuan Food Co., Ltd. is reportedly on the rush to complete the construction of its lysine plant, including installation of production equipment. The plant is located in Hubei province, China.
The new lysine plant, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons, is expected to be completed in August 2004.
Founded in August 1995 with a capital investment of RMB 200 million, Wuhan Wei-Chuan Food Co., is a joint venture company between Taiwan's Wei-Chuan Group and Wuhan Weijing Factory (monosodium glutamine manufacturer). Wuhan Wei-Chuan's core business is in the production of monosodium glutamine (MSG), soy sauce, animal feed, amino acids, etc.
