Cautious mood holds down China methionine prices
Prices of methionine were weak during the week ending April 21.
Feed millers were prudent in making procurements as animal population increased slowly. Even though a handful of distributors attempted to lift prices, the market remained weak amid lacklustre demand.
Price quotes for locally produced methionine were at RMB31.50/kg.
Producers of imported brands will attempt to increase prices as domestic supply is negligible. With demand for animal feed on the rise, methionine prices are likely to move higher in the coming weeks.
