Sen Yu pigs are free from contamination

According to Sen Yu International Holdings Inc., hogs on its two breeding farms in Heilongjiang Province have passed examination by the Ministry of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Center in China and have been discovered to be contaminant free after the recent termination of numerous pig farms in Henan Province.

This company is the largest commercial hog breeder and supplier in Heilongjiang Province, the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Some farms in one of the country's major pig breeding areas were reported to have fed pigs with an illegal drug to promote production of lean meat, according to the media. This pork was then sold to the market and to Henan Shuanghui Investment & Development Co. Ltd., the country's top meat processor. Shuanghui has already shut down the processor affected by the contamination.

As a result of these reports, authorities in the central province of Henan closed 16 pig farms and sealed 134 tonnes of pork products.
