Ukraine poultry population falls 1.1% in February
In February this year, the poultry population in Ukraine decreased by 1.1% or 2.240 million heads, compared with January, to 191.865 million heads as of March 1, 2011.
In private farms, the poultry population decreased by 4.3% or 3.645 million heads. In specialised farms, the poultry population increased by 1.3% or 1.406 million heads.
In comparison with March 1, 2010, poultry population rose by 8% or 14.183 million heads.
In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 13.7% or 13.311 million heads, and in private farms by 1.1% or 0.873 million heads.
In January 2011, the poultry population fell by 3.9% or 7.979 million heads, compared with December 2010, to 194.104 million heads as of February 1.
