Ukraine's pig and poultry numbers show increase

Official data from Ukraine has reported more pigs and poultry but fewer cattle than a year previously.

The number of horned cattle in Ukraine on April 1 2010 was 5.4 million, which was 2.4% down on-year, according to the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, cow numbers in the period fell by 3.9%, to 2.76 million animals. Pig numbers were up by 14.1% to 7.85 million animals, and poultry numbers rose by 5.4% to 174.9 million.
