China's East Hope Group to build 50 overseas feed plants

East Hope Group, one of China's largest feed producers, will build about 50 overseas feed plants in the next five to seven years, in a bid to compete with global giants.

Liu Yongxing, chairman of East Hope, confirmed that the company was working on the possibility of establishing feed plants in East Europe but no decisions were made yet.

The 50 factories, to be based in Southwest Asia, will reach an overall production capacity of 10 million to 20 million tonnes annually. Currently, East Hope has six plants in Vietnam and one in Singapore.

The company has more than 80 feed plants in China. In the future, the company's overseas feed productions will represent half of its total operations, according to Liu.
