China's pork sector challenges local pork quality
The local pork producers of China need to create a mechanism to better manage their supply chains including distributors and dealers to help eradicate quality scandals, commented an industry insider.
"Compared with processing, more problems have occurred in logistics and retail of pork, which need better supervision," He Zhonghua, spokesperson of the China Meat Association, told the Global Times Monday (Apr 16).
Ensuring quality and protecting brand image is a daunting challenge for domestic pork processors, who have faced repeated quality scandals and complaints in recent years, the newspaper said.
