VIV Europe will take place as scheduled
Despite the recent airspace shutdown at many European airports as a consequence of the volcanic eruption in Iceland, VIV Europe 2010 will take place as scheduled.
The VIV fair, an international platform that showcases the latest solutions, trends and technologies in meat production and processing, opens today (April 20). So far, 85% of the exhibitors have been able to reach Utrecht, the Netherlands in time. Market leaders from Feed to Meat are ready to show an unrivalled number of innovations.
The organisers have taken several hospitality measures to welcome visitors who made the effort to attend the event, including free parking at the Jaarbeurs venue and serving of coffee and croissants upon arrival.
Meanwhile, the situation in Schiphol Airport is constantly monitored and all exhibitors and pre-registered visitors will be immediately informed once the air travel from Schiphol Airport is resumed, according to the organisers. European visitors and exhibitors have been urged to search for alternative means of transportation.
This is the second VIV Europe event held over three days from Apr 20-22. Around 30,000 international top decision makers from 125 countries are expected to attend the fair to keep abreast of the latest farming innovations as well as taking part in the conference programmes that cover subjects related to all parts of the feed-to-meat supply chain including industrial feed processing, animal health, animal breeding, farming, slaughtering and meat production.
