Grain supply in Ukraine's Crimea lowered by 61%
As of April 1, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea's large agricultural enterprises including those dealing with grain storage and processing stored 184,900 tonnes, a drop of 60.8% from last year.
According to the announcement from the main department of statistics, wheat stocks in the Crimea totalled 102,100 tonnes (down 73.1%), 14,800 tonnes for corn (down 27%), and 51,800 tonnes for barley (up 12.2%).
Agrarian enterprises stocked 94,000 tonnes of grains from the general volumes of grain carry-over stocks in the Crimea, including 36,800 tonnes of wheat, 28,700 tonnes of barley, and 14,700 tonnes of corn. Granaries and grain processing enterprises stocked 90,900 tonnes of grains.
Moreover, as of the same date, the general sunflower seed stocks in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea totalled 4,300 tonnes, a decrease of 64.7% compared to April 1, 2009.
