Russia resumes some French, German poultry imports
Russia is allowing imports of poultry from France and Germany, with exception to poultry from certain regions, the Russian agriculture ministry said Thursday (Apr 20).
Now poultry can be imported from France, except from the regions of Ain and Landes, where bird flu cases have been reported in the former and poultry vaccination is being carried out in the latter.
Imports are also been allowed from Germany, except Saxony, where bird flu cases have been reported.
The memorandum signed by Russia allows imports from regions of countries which are not affected by animal diseases while banning imports from affected regions.
In the past, Russia banned import from entire countries when any region in them reported diseases.
