Ukraine's agricultural enterprises, grain storage and processing enterprises stocked 17.1 million tonnes of grains as of April 1, 2012, up 70% compared to the same period last year, informed the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Directly agrarian companies stored 7.8 million tonnes of grains (up 76%), including 3.1 million tonnes of wheat, 1.2 million tonnes of barley, 2.8 million tonnes of corn, 0.1 million tonnes of rye.
Grain storage and processing enterprises stored 9.3 million tonnes of grains (up 65%), including directly grain storage enterprises - seven million tonnes (up 72%).
Besides, sunflower seeds storing volumes totalled three million tonnes (up 14% compared to April 1, 2011). At the same time, directly agrarian enterprises (except of the small ones) stored 1.1 million tonnes (up 43%). The enterprises, dealing with sunflower storing and processing, stocked 1.9 million tonnes of the oilseed (down 8% compared to the previous year).
