South Korea tops Vietnamese molllusca exports in Jan-Feb
 

 

Vietnam raked in US$45.3 million from exporting 12,200 tonnes of mollusca in the first two months of 2010, with South Korea accounting for more than 30% of the total export values, according to Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

 

In February, the country exported 4,850 tonnes valued at US$18 million compared to 7,400 tonnes worth US$27.4 million in January.

 

South Korea became the biggest importer of Vietnamese mollusca products with 4,000 tonnes worth US$14.7 million, VASEP said, forecasting the country to maintain the position by the end of the year.

 

The EU ranked the second with total volume of 4,600 tonnes worth US$14.4 million, followed by Japan with 1,500 tonnes worth US$8.2 million.

 

Meanwhile, ASEAN countries imported nearly US$2.3 million worth of products.
