Ukraine builds new grain terminal
Ukraine's Black Sea port of Kherson would complete this year's construction of a new grain terminal with a storage capacity of 24,000 tonnes.
The port said in a statement the terminal would be able to load 600 tonnes of grain per hour. The terminal will cost UAH31.3 million (US$3.9 million).
Ukraine operates more that 20 sea and river ports with a total export capacity of about 32 million tonnes of grain per season.
In 2008-09 grain exports from Ukraine reached 25 million tonnes and the government forecast the export of up to 22 million tonnes this season.
