Vietnam vaccinates 70 million poultry over bird flu
Fifty provinces and cities in Vietnam have vaccinated as many as 70.5 million poultry during the first vaccination phase of 2007.
The figures were released in Hanoi on April 17by the Veterinary Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for Bird Flu Prevention and Control.
The latest avian influenza outbreak was detected in Khanh Binh Dong commune, Tran Van Thoi district of southernmost Ca Mau province in mid-March. Since then, no new outbreaks have been reported in the country.
